Our aim was to convey changes to the PSLE scoring system and S1 posting exercise in a simple, jargon-free and relatable way to parents.

While technical details were important, we wanted to ensure that the rationale for the changes were not lost. The information dissemination had to be clear and unambiguous, and we needed to demonstrate the shifts in the current system.

And while parents were our key audience, we also worked to help our teachers in explaining the changes on the ground.

PSLE – Message Portal
Aim of #ProudofP6ers Portal
As part of MOE’s ongoing efforts to get students and parents to rethink their definitions of success and pivot away from focusing solely on academic results during the PSLE results release period, #ProudofP6ers, an online portal was created for parents, students, and the public to leave words of encouragement and well wishes for our P6 students. The portal was also used to nudge students to reflect on their P6 journey and continue the journey of discovering their strengths and interests.

Features and Design of Portal
The portal was designed to visually align with the P6 Journey Collateral given out to students in mid-2021, and the L-folder collateral that was given out to students on results day. This ensured continuity in terms of the characters and reminded students of the various collateral and messages that we have put out to support their journey. Besides serving as a repository of encouraging messages to graduating P6-ers, the portal also linked users to a collection of curated Schoolbag articles with parent commentaries and inspiring stories of success and secondary school journeys.
The portal was launched and accessible to public on 17 Nov 2021, 11am, timed to the press release on the Release of 2021 PSLE Results and Secondary 1 Posting Exercise.
