At Design Office, we seek opportunities to change mindsets, sometimes through infographics such as this one on healthy and less healthy parenting practices.
The Helicopter Parenting infographic was designed to let readers laugh a little while perhaps rethinking their actions. It struck a chord with parents (and let's face it, everyone knows a parent like that), and seeing MOE reflect what was similar to their personal experiences helped us to win them over a little.
Perhaps because of all these factors, MOE Facebook posts of this infographic did well and went viral, chalking up over 30 times the average number of reactions, comments and shares.
The Straits Times picked it up the next day. So did local sites Goodyfeed and Unscrambled. Principals approached us to ask if it could be converted to posters.
